The 21
FALL COURSES
will be open for registration on July 21st. You may register by mail, using the form provided in the course catalog which should soon reach your house, by visiting our registration page, by phone (207-596-6906 or 1-800-286-1594), or by visiting the U-Rock office in person (91 Camden Street, Suite 402, Rockland, ME 04841).
CSC Curriculum Committee members have once again provided us all with an amazing choice of diverse and interesting class topics. Not only that, but they are already well into developing the winter and spring schedules. When you encounter Chair Lucie Bauer, or any other member of that committee, please be sure to thank them (and to offer any suggestions for fascinating courses which you would like to see/take/enjoy further on in the future)!
On Monday, July 28th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at University College-Rockland, Gretchen Cuffe will present the first of a series of Book Review Sessions. Books selected will include those written by current presidential candidates. A CSC Board member and retired librarian, Gretchen will summarize these books for the audience during the session: no advance reading is required, as this is more like a lecture than a group discussion. Because she is so very perceptive, this program will be exceedingly interesting, enlightening, and timely.
The JOHN SYRETT Lecture will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Rockland City Hall ( 270 Pleasant Street, Rockland ). Author Margaret Creighton will speak on the “History of the Boston Red Sox.” This annual lecture series honors one of the founding and most beloved of our Coastal Senior College’s instructors. An informative and enjoyable time is anticipated by all. This lecture is free to the public, as well as to CSC members. We hope you can make it!
